Switching a Backpack with the Eye Bone out for Armour can help make sure that Chester does not continually follow the player while in battle. Players can leave the Eye Bone in a Backpack, so Chester stops following them whenever they put on amour. Chester will respawn the next day in his default form (even if he has been transformed).Ĭhester can be set on fire, and if he dies while holding flammable items, the items will turn into Ashes. Players are encouraged to regain aggro from aggressive Mobs to keep Chester alive however, if Chester dies he will drop any items he was carrying, and the Eye Bone will shut its eye. In my opinion, players should never store the Eye Bone in a container or inside of Chester as leaving the Eye Bone out will allow players to see it’s location on the map.ĭepending on how you choose to use Chester, chances are you’re simply going to leave the Eye Bone by your primary base’s Fire Pit. If players are worried that they will lose the Eye Bone, they can place it inside of Chester for safekeeping or inside of any storage container like a Chest. The Eye Bone can be placed on the floor safely with no fear of Moleworms picking it up or other Mobs stealing it away. If players drop the Eye Bone on the floor, Chester will stop following them, though Chester will begin following again whenever players pick the Eye Bone back up.
